An E.P.I.C. 2012! (Here's to Another Great Year!)
2011 was another amazing year for E.P.I.C.! We completed 4 wells, all with the help of our loyal contributors, including YOU!
- Ugele- We drilled a well at the new secondary school that was built, and will be accepting students in January 2012. The school is also a boarding school, meaning that the children living there will now have access to clean water for all of their water needs, including drinking, proper hygiene and sanitation, and growing of crops/food.
- Ihomasa - Women and children no longer have to wait for as long as 6 hours next to a small, 6" round hand-dug hole that filled with water so slowly that it took over 2 hours for one 20L bucket to be filled!
- Weru - When we first saw a group of young children collecting water at the hand-dug holes late at night in the bush, we knew this dangerous situation had to change. The well at Weru is centrally placed and reaches all the people of the village.
- Moshi - By partnering with Immaculata University in Pennsylvania, E.P.I.C. was able to provide the funding for a well at St. Ritalize School in Moshi, since they too were in desperate need for clean water. All of the students and teachers are now able to safely enjoy the well.
We also began to expand our outreach in each community with our new 'Pedals to the People' program. By providing a few bicycles to each villiage, they are able to safely and quickly gain transport to the city areas, instead of having the daunting task of walking for hours on end for medicine and other basic supplies.
WE ASK THAT YOU HELP US INVEST IN A SUCCESSFUL 2012, BY DONATING $20.12 TO E.P.I.C. BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR.
THE MONEY YOU DONATE WILL GO TOWARDS THE DRILLING OF WELLS IN NEW VILLAGES IN 2012, AND YOUR DONATION IS 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
